It’s a new concept for North America but Graham Holt is confident the unusual barbecue huts he’s building on Copernicus Boulevard will catch on in Ontario.
Holt is the managing director and builder behind Maple Leaf BBQ Huts, a company that’s creating huts that seat a family or small party around a barbecue designed to be used indoors.
The sturdy huts are made with tongue and groove walls and floors, shingled roofs, double glazed windows and removable wooden benches.
They use a traditional Scandinavian design.
During the company’s recent grand opening, attended by about 100 people, Kevin D’Idomizio won a draw for a full barbecue hut.
“It’s clear from my conversations with many of those who attended the event that interest is high in this innovative product,” said Holt. “I’m confident Maple Leaf BBQ Huts will present North America with a new way to enjoy outdoor living all year long.”
