Mabe Canada: Expanding their exisitng warehouse/distribution facility to consolidate Mabe's eastern Canada operations to Brantford. Construction began in April 2013 with an anticipated completion for the 170,000 sq.ft. facility to be December 2013. Total capital investment of $14-million with 10 new jobs.
Ferrero Canada Ltd./Hershey's:The industrial division is expanding its North American food and confectionary manufacturing facility. Construction of a new 495,000 square foot warehousing and distribution centre was completed in Q1 2013 and employs an additional 185 people.
Sunrise Warehousing Company Inc.:Purchased the 180,000 square foot former Lumsden Bros. building at 79 Easton Road to provide third-party logistics for Solis Mexican Foods, MexiCasa, New Orleans Pizza as well as private label. Approximately $1 million has been invested in improvements to the building, creating 30 new jobs.
Brantford Self Storage Company: 160,000 sq.ft. facility offering self-storage space with workspace for small business owners who require budget space, without the excessive office overhead. Company employs 3 people.
Access Self Storage:A full service moving and storage solutions company providing home and business with storage services using the highest-quality products and services at an affordable price. Company occupies 127,000 sq.ft. and employs 1.
A-Line Greeting Cards: Purchased an 88,000 sq.ft. facility at 30 Sinclair Blvd. to amalgamate operations from Pickering and Montreal. A-Line is the largest distributor of value priced greeting cards in Canada with the Brantford location serving as their central location for distribution channels to their central and western Canadian customers as well as US business. A-line presently employs 50 people.
Fort Henry Self Storage: 30,000 sq.ft. new facility offering self storage, employing 3 people.
Roll-Tite Corp: Distributor of Roll-Tite retractable tarpaulin system occupying 23,000 sq.ft. and employing 20.
Safety Kleen:Safety-Kleen sells part washers, part cleaners, aqueous parts washers, industrial cleaning products, and provides waste management services. Company occupies 12,000 sq.ft. and employs 25 people.
Canadian Candles: Distributor of specialty candle products primarily to religious affiliations. 5,5000 sq.ft. employing 3 people.
Orian Rugs: Canadian distribution centre for Orian's area and scatter rugs. Located at 195 Savannah Oaks Drive in 5,000 sq.ft., this facility was a relocation from Cambridge to Brantford.
