Student Work-Integrated Learning Program (SWILP)
The Federal Government of Canada may be able to support the hire with new SWILP co-op funding opportunities.
The Government of Canada's Student Work-Integrated Learning Program (SWILP) is administered by Employment and Social Development Canada.
The following partners currently provide funding for the SWILP program:
- Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace (CCAA)
- BioTalent Canada
- ECO Canada
- Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC)
- Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC)
Funding:
- While there may be some variation depending on the partner, in general, organizations may receive $5,000 - $7,000 per co-op student for the fall 2018 and winter 2019 terms
- 50% up to $5,000 for all students
- 70% up to $7,000 for students within under-represented groups in STEM (females, indigenous people, persons with disabilities, newcomers in Canada five years or less, and first-year students
