Food Industry Breakfast
The food and beverage sector is a vital part of Ontario's economy, with approximately one in nine jobs connected to the agri-food supply chain and nearly 871,000 people employed across the industry. The sector also plays an important role in Canada's food security, with approximately 80% of primary agricultural production processed domestically. Locally, food manufacturing remains Brantford's largest industrial sector.
To support this important industry, the City of Brantford Economic Development team recently hosted a breakfast networking event for local food and beverage businesses. The event brought together company owners, business leaders, government representatives, and industry partners to share information on available programs and supports, encourage networking, and foster new business connections.
Thank you to representatives from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, FCC, Food and Beverage Ontario, and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness for participating in the panel discussion. We also thank Mayor Davis for joining and speaking at the event.
The City of Brantford Economic Development team is here to support local businesses as they grow and succeed. Please reach out at any time to learn more about available resources and opportunities.
